An exercise program will not only help you lose weight but will also get you in shape, lower cholesterol, prevent heart diseases, balance hormones in the body, fight depression and the list goes on and on. The ideal exercise routine will incorporate full body workout and some weight training to build and strengthen muscles.

If you are currently a member at your local gym, then a good circuit routine will give you all you need.

Swimming is another excellent exercise for losing weight. It is not hard on the joints, so its perfect for people that suffer from joint issues, it also provides an excellent cardio workout. Even If you are a good swimmer you should never swim alone.

Jogging
Running is a great way to lose weight and get in shape, but it is harder on your joints than swimming or biking.  If you need to lose weight, you should probably start out with one of the other exercises until you get into better shape.  If you are just getting started start small first with a combination of fast pace walking and running.  Running require more calories than the other two exercies so its super effective at losing weight.
